The size of a boxing glove is based on its weight. The weight of the (kick)boxing glove is expressed in OZ (ounce) and 1 ounce is 28.349 grams. Sizes of (kick)boxing gloves go per 2 OZ and are usually between 4 and 18 OZ.

Guideline - Weight

Guideline - hand size
In addition to weight, hand size is often included in determining the correct size (kick) boxing gloves. The hand size is measured (without bandage) under the knuckles without the thumb. Guideline - Fit
Every (kick)boxing glove has its own model and fit. Therefore, different models with the same size may fall differently. Therefore, in addition to the weight indication and hand size, take into account how the model falls for you. The fit is always leading in the final choice. With a good fit, the glove will be nice and tight the first time you use it. Keep in mind to leave room for your bandage and preferably always fit new gloves with bandages. The (kick)boxing gloves will become wider with use and will conform to your hand (just like shoes).

Most ladies have smaller and narrower hands. The most common boxing glove sizes for women are 10 and 12 OZ.
For children, gloves start at 4 OZ and run to about 8 OZ by age 10. For 12 years and older, sizes typically start at 12 OZ or higher.
