The story of SOG began in Vietnam, where members of a secret U.S. special OPS unit known as MACV-SOG took a unique combat knife with them during covert missions. Years later, that knife inspired the young designer named Spencer Frazer and he started the company SOG Specialty Knives in 1986. His mission was to reproduce the original SOG Bowie knife and paid tribute to the special OPS unit that created it.
